Parklive Festival Posters
I like parks. I like music. I like gigs. When you put them all together to form a concert in a park, and add in FREE then you have my attention. My local park puts on a series of such events every year and this year they approached me to design their seasonal identity and produce the posters to advertise the event. Of course I said yes!
As briefs go, it was lovely and open. The organiser, Simon, was happy for me to do my thing as long as it "didn't get too weird". I've been loving a lot of floral illustrations lately, so this was a perfect project to draw a whole bunch of flowers in eye-poppingly bright colours. The artworks were displayed around the town in posters and on bus shelters.
With six posters over the course of the summer I had fun playing with some crazy colours.
The rough idea behind the posters was to reference the colours in the park throughout the changing seasons. I took a little liberty with this, as a true representation of Cornish nature would be a whole lot of rain...
We just want to say a massive THANK YOU for the work that you've done for us this year. I am really grateful for the communication that we've had throughout this period and for how generous and accommodating you have been with our deadlines and all the extra bits and bobs that you've helped us to get done during this season. You've been great to work with and of course the designs have been equally brilliant.
