Illustration workshops at the London Transport Museum

08 April 2019

I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be off to London this week to run 6 days of workshops at the London Transport Museum as part of their Easter Holiday Family Activity programme. The workshops run from Thursday 11th April to Tuesday 16th 2019 and are for all ages.

I’ll be working with family groups to help them create characters inspired by the people they see every day on their travels. We’ll be using some fun writing techniques to come up with a background for the character which we will then illustrate. I’m hoping for a mix of real-life observation and slightly bizarre childish humour (the best kind). Each family will then have the opportunity to select one illustration to ride on a London bus as part of an installation artwork.

While I’ve never run specific illustration workshops before, I’m no stranger to teaching – I run a weekly martial arts class for kids and have done for the past seven years. It’ll be slightly different teaching people to wield paintbrushes instead of punching pads, but it’ll be a great experience.

If you’ve got a family and are looking for something to do this Easter, please do come and say hello!
