Foxcub Studio is the illustration and graphic design studio of Elly Jahnz.
I'm Elly. I draw pictures, create brands, design packaging and make letters look nice. I do this in my studio overlooking the sea; in Falmouth, Cornwall. Here are some words that explain what it is I do and why I do it.
I'm an illustrator who is also a graphic designer. This double whammy of creative discipline gives my work a different flavour. I can think big, explore concepts, create fanciful illustrations but I also sweat the small stuff - I cross the t's and dot the i's and make sure my designs work in the real world as well as look pretty on a screen. (Fun fact, in 2013 I was shortlisted for the 'Rising Star' award at the annual UK Packaging Awards, so I can put my money where my mouth is on that one). I specialise in creating beautiful designs and illustrations for product and print to really bring your brand to life.
In 2009, I graduated from the Illustration degree at University College (or Falmouth University as it's now called). For the next seven years, I worked for the fashion brand Seasalt Cornwall. I designed their packaging, on-garment branding, designed the prints for their ever popular jute bags, was their official handwriterer (totally a real word), saw my designs sold as far afield as Japan, USA & New Zealand and drunk a lot of green tea. I'm used to working with clients and suppliers across the world to deliver the best possible product.
I can work with you to take your gem of an idea and transform it into something large, sparkly and fantastic. Or maybe you have a brand already and need a little extra something? I'm just as happy working within existing brands and to build and develop what you already have.
I'm a solo creature, but I'm no lone wolf. I operate Foxcub Studio on my own but that doesn't mean I'm limited to small projects. The great thing about being in Cornwall is that you are surrounded by fantastic creative types. I have a solid network of developers, designers, printers and copywriters who I regularly team up with to tackle big projects. So if you think you have a project that you think too large for me to chew on, drop me a line anyway. You'll be surprised at how much I can eat.
Aside from writing questionable copy and being a full time illustrator & designer, what else do I do? Well, when not drawing, I like to get off my rear and be as active as possible. I love surfing, swimming and training in Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate).
So, if you have a project that's big or small, some packaging to be designed, an illustration to be drawn or you'd like to get me in your studio for a few days work then please get in touch.
I'd love to hear from you!
